Holy Bible
What We Believe
Holy Bible
It is our belief and faith that the Holy Bible (the documented Word of God) was written by men who were selected by God and inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe it is the universal truth for all mankind. It is the source of life for humanity and it provides wisdom, understanding, knowledge, deliverance, history, prophetic present and future events. (2Tim 3:16, 17). We believe that the Word of God is infallible (dependable). His Word gives life transforming power and is available to everyone. And, His Word, has the highest authority. We believe the entire Bible, is useful for the believer (2 Tim 3:16) and therefore we do not emphasize one concept, or aspect of the Bible by claiming a denomination; we are simply, "followers of Christ Jesus."
God In Three Persons
We believe that God is Holy (Lev 19:2) and that God reveals Himself to man in three distinct persons: the Holy Spirit, The only begotten Son (the Lord Jesus Christ), and the Heavenly Father (John 17 & Acts 1:5). We believe that while there are three persons, these three persons are One entity.
God's Creation Of Mankind
We believe that God made man in His image and in His likeness and we also believe that everything God creates is good (Gen 1:26). We acknowledge, God's complete sovereignty over all creation.
Mankind's Fall And Available Repentance
Man sinned (voluntarily transgressed), causing all subsequent people to be in a fallen state. Thus, it is through Jesus Christ and Him Redemption Plan of Salvation through His crucifixion, death and resurrection, that man is able to be redeemed, forgiven, and returned to a righteous state (right standing before God) (Gen 3, John 3:16, John 14:6, Rom 5:12-21) and that the forgiveness of sin is granted to mankind by way of repentance (declaring that you turn your back to sin; a change of mind) and acceptance of Jesus’s Salvation Plan.
Preaching And Teaching
We believe that through preaching and teaching God’s word, a person or a people can gain a deeper understanding of the story of God Almighty, Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit and the gift of His Salvation. God mandates His Disciples (His followers) to preach and teach His Word; Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
The Lord's Supper
We believe in the Lord's Supper; commonly known as Communion. The Lord’s Supper is an essential Act of Faith. Acts 2:42 tells us “And they steadfastly persevered, devoting themselves constantly to the instruction and fellowship of the apostles, to the breaking of bread and prayers.” (Reference can be made in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34)
Worship, Prayer, And Praise
We organize ourselves in acts of worship, prayer and praises to God. We show our acts of worship, prayer and praises individually and collectively. We congregate and fellowship one with the other as described in Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 18:20, Colossians 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 14:26.
Water Baptism, Deliverance And Demons
We believe in Water Baptism. 1 Peter 3:21 ESV tells us “Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Acts 22:16, Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:38 described how Water Baptism is necessary for the believer. We also believe that the believer needs to be mindful of their need for deliverance. Deliverance comes through our Lord. (Psalm 34:17, Psalm 107:6, Psalm 50:15, John 8:32, Galatians 5:1) Salvation and Deliverance are two separate things. One can be Saved and still need deliverance in one area of their lives or another. We believe that demons have and still exist today. The goal of demons is to occupy a body to manipulate and cause harm to the person it occupies or to cause harm to the life of the people connected to that person.
